History
and Localization of a new home on Ile-Perrot
FRANCAIS
The Ile-Perrot
(city), island is located at the head of lac Saint-Louis, entirely
bathed by waters of the Ottawa river and envelopes it's two banks
by the discharge of the lake of the Two-Mountains, that is well-known
of Montrealers. In spite of the distance which separates it from
the metropolis, approximately 30 km , not much is expected of this
entity, which still remains a vacation resort extremely appreciated
for the construction of your new home. The city of the Ile-Perrot,
occupies northern banks of the homonious island, at the most raised
location , you face the municipality of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue,
of which the distance is 5 km. With Terrace-Vaudreuil, Pincourt
and Notre-Dame-de-Ile-Perrot, it completes the whole of the island.
This island was conceded by the intendant Jean Talon, October 29,
1672, François-Marie Perrot (1644-1691), captain who was
with the regiment of Picardy and governor of Montreal in 1670, which
leaves us his name. He had married, a few years before, the niece
of the Talon intendant, Madeleine Laguide Meynier. In the old documents,
there were many spelling variants for the patronym: Isle ou Île
Perault, Pérault, Perot... On the administrative level, the
municipality of Sainte-Jeanne-Chantal-de-l'Isle-Perrot (1855), which
partly took again the name of the parish of Sainte-Jeanne-Chantal
(1832), received its first priest in 1786 and yielded the place
to that of the Ile-Perrot (1946) whose was amended by that of the
city in 1955. This administrative entity however had been preceded,
in 1845, by the municipality of Isle-Perrot, that was abolished
in 1847.

Club Nautique
Ile Perrot
Founded in 1966, the
Nautical Club of Ile-Perrot is a non-profit institution. It is managed
by its members who are all volunteers. A committee, elected by the
members, manages the Club. The correct operation of its operations
is based on the participation of the members for all the tasks.
Thus, all the members must make their share and... it is not interdicted
to give more! All are expected to give a minimum of two working
days per year. Thus, we benefit from the work made by each member.
The club
has one of the best protected ports of the area from it's breeze
that can cause damage. In 1993, the port was draged to give it depth
of five feet to the lower part of the level of the charts, which
in fact is a more accessible port.
